Beauty

1 peter 3:3-4

Do not let your adorning be external—the braiding of hair and the putting on of gold jewelry, or the clothing you wear— but let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God's sight is very precious

Beauty is a thing that we all poses, weather you think so or not. But some times Beauty can poses you. You can become so obsessed with it, and the way you look on the outside becomes the center of your attention. But that’s not the real beauty, the real beauty is who you are on the inside. I know that God doesn't care if my t-shirts cute or if I am wearing makeup. God cares if I am a good Christian, if I am a nice person. If I listen to my parents, if I care for friends and family. He wants to know if I am a beautiful on the inside.
I know it’s easy to get to caught up in the outside beauty and I trust me I do a lot! I like to look at myself in the mirror and I know sometimes I do obsess, but I am working on it.
Plus if you know your going to be around a boy that you like, and you change your cloths fifty time’s because you don’t know if he will like it. Don’t! If he is your friend he should like you for who you are.

I do spend most of my time when getting ready doing my hair and throwing cloths left and right trying to find something to wear to church, co-op, or just out and about.

And  I know that non of that is bad. As long as I know my real beauty should be on the inside, and not to obsess on the out side, because the inside is what God cares about. =)

Hi, Christine. Your post is so beautifully written. I truly agree with what you have said, and I have said it for years. When I was a teen, it made all the difference to me. I wanted someone to like me for what was inside not outside. I chose my friends wisely based on that concept of beauty inside not outside. I still have many of those lasting friendships because I was not looking for outside beauty.
Thanks for the memory and a great reminder to stay on track. You are very wise.

I found your blog from your mom's. What a great message, Victoria! I'm so glad to know that there are girls who have learned this important message--the most important beauty is that on the inside. :) I actually wrote about beauty myself today--I'd love to have you stop by my blog! :)
